Frederiksborg Castle. Situated in Hillerød approx. 45 min. by train from Copenhagen. The castle was founded during the years 1602-22 by Christian IV. A magnificient castle from the Renaissance. Well worth a visit.

Frederiksborg Museum. Situated in Hillerød. Founded in 1878 holds a large collection of historical paintings and portraits from the last 400 years.

Frihedsmuseet. The Museum of Danish Restistance.

Glyptotek. Collection of Egyptian, Greek, Etruscan and Roman collections. Also Danish and French fine arts from the 19th and 20th century.

Helligåndskirken. ( The Church of the Holy Ghost). One of the oldest churches in the city, rebuilt in 1728.


Karen Blixen Museet (The Karen Blixen Museum). Birthplace and residence for the Danish writer Karen Blixen/Isak Dinesen (1885-1962).

Kronborg (Hamlet's Castle), Helsingør. Train from Copenhagen.

Louisiana. Museum of Modern Art. Internationeal painting and sculpture.

Louis Tussaud's Wax Museum. Wax Models of famous Danish and foreign personalities and Chambers of Horrors.

Marmorkirken. ( The Marble Church) Built from 1749-1894. Church Tower open.

National Museet (The National Museum) Denmark's cultural history. The childrens's Museum.

Nyhavn. In the old days a sailor's quarter. Now a charming promenade with attractive old picturesque houses and small restaurants. A tour of the harbour with Canal Tours is a must. H.C. Andersen lived in no less than three places in Nyhavn, no. 20, no. 67 and in no. 18.

Rådhuspladsen. The City Hall Square. Guided tours in English of the City Hall 1892-05.

Sankt Ansgar's Church. The Roman- Catholic Cathedral in Copenhagen.

The Little Mermaid. The pride of Copenhagen. Born in a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen.

The Royal Theatre. ( Home of the famous Royal Danish Ballet).

Tycho Brahe Planetarium. Named after a famous Danish astronomer.

Tivoli Gardens. There is only one Tivoli! A garden with thousands of flowers, restaurants, amusement park, music, indoor & outdoor. Tivoli has a touch of class that you will not find in other similar establishments. Experience it first hand in Copenhagen. Tivoli is normally open from the end of April - middle of September.

Tøjhusmuseet ( The Royal Arsenal Museum). International collection of arms, uniforms, colours in Christian IV'' arsenal.

Vikingeskibshallen ( The Viking Ship Museum), Roskilde. Train from Copenhagen 30 km.

Vor Frelser Kirke, Church of our Saviour. Has an outside spiral staircase from where you can enjoy a magnifient view of Copenhagen.

Vor Frue Kirke. Our Lady's Church. The cathedral of Copenhagen built in 1829.
